Vision of Sagittarus–Nov 21- Dec 20
We are entering Sagittarius, the world of the gypsy, the philosopher, the seeker and the shaman. As we enter more deeply into the dark and the cold, our inner life grows rich with imagination and hope. Sagittarius is a visionary energy, alive with the inspiration of what can be. As we come out of Scorpio, the journey that takes us deeply into ourselves, the Archer asks us the point of that journey. It reminds us that is often the journey itself that was the point, the soul growth that we encountered and how it expanded our consciousness. Sagittarius allows us to see with new eyes, our inner eyes, how everything is connected and its deeper meaning.

The symbol of Sagittarius is the centaur. A centaur is half man, half horse, a mythical beast from ancient times. There was a time as part of shamanic ceremonies, people would shape shift into animals. Those who did the shape shifting would then have a sacred relationship with that animal and embody the soul of that animal. It would also allow that individual to enter into the “anima mundi” or world soul. This is a large part of shamanic practices, entering into the world of the invisible and into the soul of the world/Nature or Mother Earth. Sagittarius is aligned with natural law and helps us align our humanity with our divinity on our sacred journey here on Mother Earth. It reminds us of our connection to the natural world and Her connection to the cosmos. The more deeply we align with nature, the more deeply we also align with the Universe.

The second part of the symbol for Sagittarius is the centaur that is shooting a bow & arrow. This has to do with hitting the mark, the quest for the truth. The quest itself is our Holy Grail, the meaning of life. Its opposite sign of Gemini is about the collection of facts. Sagittarius is about the meaning of those facts, recognizing that what appears to be random information when woven together creates a tapestry or mandala that has deep meaning. The meaning helps us understand more deeply who we are and our place in the Universe.

The shadow side of Sagittarius is the thought that what we believe to be truth is the truth for everyone. The Universe is very mysterious and only gives us pieces of the truth at a time. We are all on different places in our journey and have different pieces of the whole truth. Fundamentalism in any form is a shadow of Sagittarius, whether it is our beliefs around religion, food, lifestyles and a multitude of other things that help us understand ourselves or our lives. There are many paths that help us take more deeply into the whole of the truth. Believing only we have the truth is very limiting and has a very dark side. We have seen much hate and unkindness come from the belief that there is only one truth. Diversity adds to the richness and growth of all beings.

The only deep truth is Love which comes in many forms and is endless. Anything beyond that it is only belief. The challenge of Sagittarius is to develop tolerance for all ways of life, respect for paths that are not our own. Many rivers flow into the great ocean that is Love which is the Heart of the Universe.

In this time of Sagittarius, we have the wonderful holiday of Thanksgiving. Giving thanks and gratitude for all of the blessings in our lives is truly transformational. Daily prayers of gratitude are life changing, allowing the love and blessings of the Universe and Creator to flow through each of us. This is the vision and the hope of the future. This is how we create the world we in which we want to live, with Love and Gratitude for all beings and the richness of diversity, understanding we all part of a much greater truth.

Changing our world with Love & Gratitude, the vision of Sagittarius.
